Privacy Policy
Dodly helps users turn videos, articles, and other links into short audio summaries. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
When you use Dodly, we may collect account information such as your email address, name, and profile picture from Google sign-in. We also collect the links you submit, summary history, playback and like state, and basic technical information needed to operate the service.
If you join the website waitlist, we collect the email address and optional name you provide, plus basic attribution data such as landing page, referrer, and campaign parameters.
Google And YouTube Data
If you choose to connect YouTube, Dodly requests the YouTube read-only scope: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly. Dodly uses this access to identify your connected YouTube channel, read your YouTube subscriptions, and show videos from channels you select so you can create summaries from them.
Dodly stores your connected YouTube channel ID, channel name, granted scope text, and an encrypted Google refresh token so the app can continue providing YouTube-connected features after the initial connection. Dodly does not request permission to upload, edit, or delete videos through this user YouTube connection.
Dodly's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How We Use Information
We use information to provide summaries, audio playback, account access, YouTube-connected features, service reliability, abuse prevention, analytics, support, and product improvement. We do not sell personal information.
Sharing
We share information with service providers only as needed to run Dodly, such as hosting, storage, authentication, analytics, and content processing providers. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect Dodly or users, or as part of a business transfer.
Retention And Security
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security. YouTube refresh tokens are encrypted at rest. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we use reasonable safeguards for the type of data we process.
When you disconnect YouTube access in Dodly, we delete or disable the stored YouTube refresh token used for that connection, subject only to limited records we must retain for security, legal, or abuse-prevention purposes.
Your Choices
You can disconnect YouTube access in Dodly where the connection controls are available, and you can also revoke Dodly's access from your Google Account permissions page. To request account or data deletion, contact us at admin@dodly.app.
Children
Dodly is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
If Dodly materially changes how it accesses, uses, stores, or shares Google user data, we will notify users through the app, by email, or both before the change applies.
